David has grown tremendously while receiving services at Allies. Through dedication and hard work, David has set specific goals for himself and has since achieved those goals.
Before joining Allies, David resided with his family. The adjustment was a bit challenging for him. With support from his family, friends and staff at Allies, David developed coping skills and built the confidence needed to express himself when things were bothering him. Additionally, he has learned to clearly vocalize his wants and needs and develop his own customized schedule of activities that interest him in order to determine his future path.
David resided in various homes and attended different day programs in an effort to maximize his independence. David enjoys playing video games and has a love for music. He learned how to play the guitar and enjoys entertaining his friends at parties and day program by playing his favorite musical selections specifically “Happy Birthday.”
David completed a 16-week prevocational training program and successfully landed a job at BJ’s as a seasonal employee. He eventually proved to his job coach and supervisors that he was capable of doing more work and secured a permanent part-time position. David has developed a circle of friends within the community and will continue to strive for success!
